Why Your Sunscreen Matters — For Skin and the Sea
Every time we swim, surf, or rinse off after a day at the beach, the sunscreen we use has an impact far beyond our skin. Research shows that many common chemical UV filters — especially oxybenzone, octinoxate, and octocrylene — can harm coral reefs even at tiny concentrations. They disrupt coral DNA, damage larvae, and accelerate bleaching. At EcoZinc, we believe sun protection shouldn’t come at the ocean’s expense. That’s why our SPF50 uses only non-nano zinc oxide.
